This study examines perceptions and beliefs about organ donation amongst black and minority ethnic communities. It argues that although cultural, emotional and religious beliefs may influence the decision to become a donor, in many cases the limited number of organ donors may be due to a lack of awareness about the need for donors.  An event designed to educate and promote organ donation saw 1/3 of participants sign up to the register.
